Kabbalah the Cornerstone of Jewish Mysticism

Kabbalah is a part of Jewish mysticism that literally translates from the Hebrew meaning. It is a discipline and school of esoteric teachings that define the inner meaning of the Torah, the first books of the old testaments and the traditional rabbinical literature of the Talmud. This school of Jewish mysticism focuses on secretive knowledge that was suppressed during times of foreign occupation of ancient Israel.

There are many schools of kabbalah and opinion differs on which texts are truly Kabbalistic. However, the basic foundation is every idea grows from the foundation of God and all science and mysticism grows from that. Kabbalah places great significance on talismans, amulets and numerology and believes that if one studies and re-examines ancient Hebrew texts one can find hidden meanings in the characters.
